Metal Dome VS Steel Dome

August 4th, 2006

It’s no wonder that oneday I’ll write an article to talk about what a Metal dome is.

Frankly, sometimes some friends will ask me the following question:

“what’s your product? “
I said: “Metal dome
” What? Metal dome? Do you mean the steel dome? What’s the usage of it? ”
” The metal dome is majorly used in membrane switch, mobile, mp3\mp4 player, control panels and so on…. …”

Even though after my explanation someone who whom konw little on our industry will be also confused, they explain the whole word in the synonymy words and such seperated words, in their own ways. So they will thought:‘metal’ stands for ‘steel’ and ‘dome’ for housetop or roof, so ‘metal dome’ is ‘a dome (housetop) made of steel’. (in in Chinese, it’s named “金属圆屋顶”. )

Oh, my God! A little small ‘metal dome‘  in my eyes then becomes a big ‘a dome (housetop) made of steel’? Hup, How wonderful, Inconceivability! But do you know how much the difference between them? Let’s take a brief look at these pictures.

Membrane Switches

July 28th, 2006

Membrane switches are thin and flexible electronic switches that have a similar function to electric switches. They are typically low-voltage and are continually replacing the older push-button types of switches.

A membrane switch works by permitting the momentary opening and closing of a circuit. Activation of the circuit is accomplished by touching the preferred keypad button on the device that uses membrane switches. This causes the switch contacts to connect and permit continuity and current flow. The connection or circuit is broken as soon as the finger is released, making it a momentary switch.

Membrane Switches classification Tactile membrane switches Tactile switches basically include all switches that have a metal dome to achieve action that is created by pressing. Read the rest of this entry »

July 20th, 2006

In another post Google as a Black Box Giacomo proposed that we talk too much theory and not enough application of it. So, lets skip the theory and get to what I know works from time proven methods on Google. The level of success will depend largely on the subject matter, it’s potential audience, and it’s level of competition on the net.

The following will build a successful site in 1 years time via Google alone. It can be done faster if you are a real go getter, or everyones favorite a self starter.  Read the rest of this entry »
